Dr. Carpenter has successfully practiced dentistry since 1976. He received his specialty certificate in 1986.

HIS PATH TO EXCELLENCE

After growing up in southern California, Dr. Carpenter received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University. He went on to receive a dental degree (DDS) from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, as a recipient of a U.S. Army Health Profession Scholarship. Following eight years of practice as a general dentist, Dr. Carpenter completed a post-graduate residency in Prosthodontics at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), where he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Carpenter has served on the faculty at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and has been an instructor in both Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at UCSF. He is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, as well as the Academy of Osseointegration, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, the San Diego County Dental Society and the American Dental Association. He is also a member and past president of the San Diego Prosthodontic Society.

HIS FAMILY

Dr. Carpenter has been living in San Diego's North County for over 20 years. He and his wife, Mary, have four children (Matt, Amy, John, and Ashley), and two grandchildren.
